Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIGP Dr. Fred Yiga has retired.
Yiga handed over office Thursday to his deputy, Senior Commissioner of Police, SCP Benson Ioyo-Nyeko.
He now goes in to retirement after 32 years of service.
Speaking on Yiga’s retirement, the Chief of Police’s Commiserate, Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIGP Asan Kasingye described Yiga as fantastic, disciplined, hardworking, respectful, patriotic and with emotional intelligence.
“He has represented Police so well here and abroad. Whatever his next destination, he will still serve Uganda,” Kasingye said.
Until his retirement, Yiga has been the Director, Interpol and International Relations.
