Rwanda Police Shoots Rwandan Crossing to Uganda at Katuna

Nadayimana whimpering in pain at Katuna clinic

The Frosty relationship between Rwanda and Uganda soared on Thursday when Rwandan police shot a national who attempted to cross to Uganda at Katuna Border Post.

The victim is identified as Innocent Nadayimana whose right arm was shattered with a bullet and sustained severe wounds. He is admitted at Katuna Medical Clinic.

This shooting happened at Rushaki, Nyinamuronzi in Katuna town council.

The development comes after several warnings issued by Rwandan officials including President Paul Kagame against their people who tried to cross to Uganda.

On February 28, Paul Kagame ordered for closure of Rwandan border on grounds that his citizens were arrested and tortured in Uganda.

Katuna/Gatuna border post remains closed.

Other claims made by Rwanda against Uganda are supporting and hosting Rwandan elements who want to remove Paul Kagame from leadership.

A few months ago, a pregnant Rwandan woman fell and died instantly as she ran away from Rwandan security officers after she had crossed to Uganda to look for food.

A few days ago, Rwandan army commander Patrick Nyamvumba warned citizens against crossing to Uganda for medical care saying the services will be extended to the locals at the border.
