Opposition strongman Col. Kizza Besigye will not pave way for any new entrant perceived as the most likeable among members of the public.

Besigye has instead asked those engineering perception that his support has withered if they solely identified him as the new opposition face at a time he waged a democratic fight against President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in 2001, a man he had served as personal physician.

In the recent past, a clique of opposition political ‘wannabes’ and their sympathizers propagated a notion that it was high time Kizza Besigye paves away for People Power honcho Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, a rapper turned politicians.

After his announcement to contest for Kyadondo East Constituency mid 2017, Bobi Wine’s support has been surging each day and he has since declared an ambition to unseat Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has been Uganda’s President for close to 30 years.

Kizza Besigye served Museveni for over 15 years before he broke ranks after authoring a scathing dossier against the army.

Besigye a doctor by profession has stood 4 times against Museveni.

Peddling propaganda against Besigye, Bobi Wine has his sympathizers say its time for the FDC heavyweight to hang boots and endorse the musician.

Besigye scoffs at all those with such mindset challenging them to name a politician who introduced him on the scene.

“No one asked me to join the struggle,” he clears air.

He adds, “Nobody invited me into the struggle and nobody can say stop struggling. I will continue until that which brought me to the struggle has been achieved.”

With such a revelation it is clear the People’s Government head is on the ballot in the next election although his juniors in the assembly feign ignorance that Kizza Besigye has not expressed interest in vying for Presidency for the fifth time.

Besigye issued the stinging revelation while responding to the claims on a local TV station on Monday night.
