Sudanese Army on Thursday afternoon announced it has taken over power and arrested its Commander in Chief (CiC) Omar al Bashir.
In a televised news conference watched across the world, the army declared a state of emergency for 3 months and its intention to stay in power for 2 years.
Sudanese airspace has been closed for 24 hours and arrests are being made for all the regime officials who are still in the country.
All political prisoners will be freed.
