Police has arrested Barclays Bank worker identified as Naishibah Naiga, 29, suspected to have stolen shs 170m from businessman Charles Mbire’s account.
Naiga who works as Customer Services Specialist at Ndeba Branch is being detained at Katwe police station.
Information obtained by investigators indicate the accused colluded with the Bank’s IT gurus to remove $50000 from the tycoon’s dollar account.
however, Naiga’s ran out luck when she failed to explain the transaction of such huge sum of cash following an internal audit conducted by the Bank.
Her bosses lodged a police complaint vide CRB469/2019 at Katwe and Naiga was netted, she stays in custody waiting to be prosecuted in court.
Mbire is yet to record a statement as he is away on duty.
Robinnah Mukasa, the Bank’s spokesperson declined to comment on the matter when reached.
