Photos: Police Showers Besigye with ‘Cocktail’ of Teargas in Bushenyi

Police in Ishaka, Bushenyi in Western Uganda fired volleys of teargas and rubber bullets on Wednesday evening to disperse a surging crowd of Col Kizza Besigye’s fans.

According, to Ronald Muhinda, Besigye’s Personal Assistant, the opposition icon together with FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat were to spend the day in Bushenyi to speak to Greater Bushenyi leaders of the Liberation struggle.

“After evading Police, they managed to speak to Sub County, Constituency and District leaders from Rubirizi, Mitooma, Sheema and Bushenyi at Swing in Motel,” Muhinda said.

Hell broke loose as the leaders tried to access Kazinda Grounds to to address the general public.

“People were showered Teargas and bullets for hours from Ishaka to Kizinda.” Earlier Beisgye and his team had addressed FDC Bushenyi leaders in a closed door.

Besigye was also hosted on local Radio where he sensitized opposition supporters.
