Uganda’s Ambassador to Burundi Maj Gen (rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza has described Members of Parliament who called for his removal from office as stupid on grounds that he allegedly assaulted a female traffic police officer Sgt. Esther Namaganda.
The NRM historical who also doubles as the party’s vice chairperson for Western Uganda wondered how gullible the MPs are who rush to make judgment without listening to his account first.
“Are they [MPs] the ones who appointed me? They are stupid. How can a house with MPs who jump over chairs and break microphones pre-judge me without a chance to be heard,” he said on Monday while addressing the media in Kampala.
The retired army officer also threatened to sue MPs who sought his recall as ambassador.
“I will target the specific individual who introduced the motion on the floor of Parliament.”
As if that isn’t enough, Kyaligonza further warned media houses that published stories about the alleged attack on the officer.
Last month, the diplomat was filmed together with his bodyguards manhandling a female cop in Seeta Mukono after she ordered the General’s car to stop, accusing the driver of breaking traffic guidelines.
His bodyguards were apprehended after the nasty incident and a case opened up against him.
But this website learnt that the DPP has since returned Kyaligonza’s file to CIID saying it lacks more two witnesses.
