Rwanda Writes to Canada to Kick out RNC’s Mukankusi

RNC's Mukankusi

Rwanda government through its citizens living in Canada under the chairmanship of Mr. Joachim Mutezintare has written to Canadian officials to reign in on Charlotte Mukankusi who is perceived perilous to Kigali.

In a letter obtained by this website addressed to Canadian Ministers; Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and Ahmed Hussein, the Minister of Immigration, refugee and Citizenship, Mr.  Mutezintare who is the president of Rwanda Community in Canada described Rwanda National Congress (RNC) to which Mukankusi is a member as a terror group that is indoctrinating children- soldiers from Rwanda, DRC, Burundi and Uganda to mobilize and overthrow Rwanda.

“This group has recruited children-soldiers among its ranks, drown from Rwanda and the neighboring countries of Burundi. Congo-DR and Uganda,” part of the letter reads.

Adding: “Rwanda National Congress (RNC) in collaboration with FDLR has a stated its goal of attacking Rwanda and is actively seeking facilitators in Africa and the West.”

Mutezintare alleges that RNC is being supported by some East African countries which include Uganda and Burundi.

“It is in this context that one Ms. Charlotte Mukankusi, of Rwandan origin, currently residing in Canada, is assigned with duties of diplomacy for this terror group.

Mukankusi was recently given a Ugandan passport to help facilitate her movements in conducting RNC’s pursuits to destabilize Rwanda,” Mutezintare claims.

It is against the backdrop of these accusations that Rwanda Community expresses concerns that one of its members is engaged in subversion and considered a threat to their home government.

“Your Excellences, Ministers, we urge you to pay urgent attention to this issue and authorize investigations to ensure that Ms Charlotte Mukankusi doesn’t contravene Canadian Laws, obligations and responsibilities expected of all of us,” reads another part of the letter.

Mukankusi is a former ambassador of Rwanda who fell out with Kagame on claims that her husband was brutally murdered by the regime, prompting her to seek asylum in Canada.

She has since coordinated with RNC rebel group led by former Rwanda Defence Forces commander Maj. Gen Kayumba Nyamwasa who is based in South Africa.

Mukankusi handles diplomacy for the rebel outfit.

This year, she travelled to Uganda to meet President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni seeking assistance to depose Paul Kagame. She told Ugandan leader she has evidence that Kigali eliminated her husband.

But Museveni turned down her request saying it was against the AU stance for a country to interfere with a member country’s politics.
