Speke Resort Munyonyo owned by Ugandan businessman Sudhir Ruparelia has earned itself a new title as Africa Conference Center.’

The facility erected at the shores of Lake Victoria boosts of 450 suites and 25 conference rooms.

Hosting a delegation of over 1000 people from across the world to attend Africa Now Summit held under a theme “Towards a secure, integrated and growing Africa”, in amidst was London-based Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa.

The 8th richest man, according to previous statistics commended Speke Resort before suggesting that it could be turned into the continent’s conference center.

“Why don’t we declare this venue; this site, the official African Conference Centre?”

“I go all over Africa to conferences and in big hotels and we go to the basements and we come to this amazing venue…thank you very much for organizing it. I will come every year if you want,” Masiyiwa added, arousing thunderous applause from the audience.

Built on an expansive 100 acres by the breezy shores of Lake Victoria, both Speke Resort Munyonyo and Commonwealth Resort, Munyonyo have 450 tastefully finished rooms and 25 international standard conference rooms.
