Nakawa Court Chief Magistrate has Monday released a Rwandan on cash bail of shs 2 million.
Moses Ishimwe Rutare aged 33 years was last week week charged by the same court for illegal entry and stay in Uganda.
The bail condition is that Ishimwe must first pay the 2 million before he is released from custody.
Ishimwe’s lover Sheila Angura who hails from Arua stood surety and was asked to sign a non cash bond of shs 10m and must ensure that Ishimwe returns to court on April 1 for mentioning of his case until investigations are over.
Court heard that Ishimwe a resident of Mbuya, Nakawa Division in 2018 entered Uganda through unknown border post and has no permanent residence or pass issued by the Immigrations.
Prosecution led by Feni Justine claims that this Rwandan national also at Luthuli Avenue Bugolobi in Nakawa Division without a Certificate of Permanent Residence or a pass issued under the Uganda Citizenship Immigration Act.
Ishimwe was on December 22, 2018 netted loitering near CMI premises in Bugolobi, Kampala.
He was allegedly spying for Rwanda, his lawyer Daniel Walyemera said the state claimed.
