Damiano Akuze, a traditional healer who dragged Speaker Rebecca Kadaga to Jinja High Court seeking shs 200 million payment for offering her charm has withdrawn case and apologized to the defendant.
“I have voluntarily without any duress and coercion reconsidered my position and wholly heartedly withdraw the same against the defendant,” Akuze told court in a notice filed on Thursday.
Adding, “in the premises, I pray to withdraw the aforementioned matter with a prayer that no orders to costs be made.”
Mr. Akuze, early this year petitioned Jinja Court that Kadaga had refused to pay for the charm he administered to her in I990 to further her political career and attain highest posts in government.
Akuze said for 19 years, the payment had accumulated to a tune of shs 200 million.
But Parliament through Clerke Jane Kibirige dimissed Akuze claims as fabricated aiming at maligning Kadaga who has worked tirelessly earn the position she holds now.
Akuze also apologized to Kadaga for the unreasonable action of filing a baseless, useless case.
“I also regret that the said case has tarnished your good and honoured reputation that you have earned for a long period of time serving this country and the world as a whole in different capacities,” said Akuze.
The purported traditional healer denies being influenced nor funded by anyone but rather made the decision from his “own volition.”
