Three cars were gutted in a fire that broke out on Tuesday evening in third basement of National Social Security Fund building- Workers’ House.
NSSF confirmed the incident happened at around 5pm.
Using its social media channel- Twitter, the handlers stated that the fire has been isolated in a small spot on 3rd basement of Workers House.
The inferno gutted three cars which were in the parking yard on this basement.
“We can also confirm that only 3 cars in the isolated spot are affected. Police Fire Brigade on the scene. Situation calmer now and is under control,” reads a tweet.
The fire which caused fear is reported to have started from one of the cars parked on his floor and immediately an alarm went off.
NSSF reports that, “We immediately activated our Disaster Management Plan & evacuated the building. Police Fire Brigade on the scene. Situation under control.”
Earlier, it was reported that an alarm went off at Workers House as a result of smoke emanating from one of the basement floors of the building.
Within a few minutes, the entire building has been evacuated. Police Fire Brigade has arrived on the scene. Situation is now under control
