The second highest organ of the ruling party- Central Executive Committee (CEC) which has been sitting at Chobe Safari Lodge for five days has resolved to front President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as NRM Presidential candidate in the next general elections.
The meeting further recommended that its supreme leader remains NRM flag bearer even after the elections in 2021.
According to resolution (g) seen by this website, the retreat resolves as thus: “to emphatically recommend to the membership of the movement and its organs that His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni our leader and General of the African Resistance, continues leading the movement and state in 2021 and beyond. As we eliminate the bottlenecks to transformation.”
This automatically places Mr. Museveni at the ballot box come 2021.
