Kiwanda: My Pictures with Fabiola were Photoshopped

State Minister for Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda has distanced himself from the pictures in which he is seen ‘smitten’ with socialite Anita Fabiola.

Kiwanda, the whole of last week turned into media fodder having flagged off Miss Curvy Contest that attracted backlash from the onset.

The pageant, Kiwanda said was aimed at marketing Uganda across borders and promoting tourism.

However, activists perceived the contest as demeaning the dignity of women in the country.

It turned worse as political leaders branded Kiwanda “selfish” who was just promoting immorality.

After launching Miss Curvy Competition, Kiwanda embarked on traversing the Eastern Uganda with Fabiola as a means of exposing Uganda’s nature to the outside world.

It is at this point  that Kiwanda’s pictures went viral with the public questioning the motive of ‘Tulambule Campaign.’

With Fabiola, the two were snapped in the middle of the river with an ‘eye’ contact’ that left many wondering.

But on Monday morning while speaking to NBS, Kiwanda applauded his vigorous efforts in marketing the country.

Adding that he would do anything to market Uganda.

He responded to Miss Curvy Contest backlash saying those against the pageant, “quoted me out of contest.”

Asked on his intention and pictures with socialite Fabiola, Kiwanda said, “some of those pictures are photoshopped.”
