Two Top MTN Employees Arrested and Deported for Threatening National Security

Olivier Prentout

Two foreign nationals have been arreste and deported from Uganda. Olivier Prentout, a French National and Annie Tabura from Rwanda have been working with MTN Uganda in the Marketing Department. Olivier worked  as a Chief Marketing Officer while Tabura was Manager, Sales and Distribution.

A statement released by Deputy Public Relations Officer, Polly Namaye, points out that the two have been under investigations  as their activities had been suspected by Immigration Officers who worked hand in hand with other security agencies  and were finally arrested after realizing that that their engagements compromise national security.

“We want to commend the Directorate of Immigration and Citizenship control for strengthening the screening procedures at all border points. We strongly believe that deportation of the two foreigners who were using their employment as tools to achieve their ill motives has enabled us disrupt their intended plans …” the statement partly stated.

In the same statement, Namaye urges the public to continue helping police and other security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
