President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has Thursday left Uganda for Addis Ababa in Ethiopia as part of a select group of African Union (AU) Heads of State who are attending a high level consultation meeting on the situation in the DRC.
The meeting was convened by Rwandan Leader Paul Kagame who is the current chairman of AU.
However, outgoing DRC President Joseph Kabila informed Kagame that he wouldn’t attend the AU meeting because of the “situation at home.”
The agenda of the high profile meeting remains unknown.
Back in DRC, the current crisis arises out a Presidential election which was won by opposition candidate Felix Tshisekedi.
However, his victory is being contested by Martin Fayulu who accuses Kabila conniving with Tshisekedi to steal the election.
The election results are being challenged by among others the catholic church, a very authoritative institution in the country.
