Japan Ambassador Kazuaka Kameda, has praised Uganda for maintaining an effective relationship with his country.
H.E Kameda extended his praises while he paid a courtesy call to Amb Patrick Mugoya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign affairs on the 14th January at the ministry Headquarters.
The ambassador highlighted commitment of the government of Japan to promote infrastructural development and strengthening cooperation with Uganda.
He also underscored the recent commissioning of the Nile Bridge in Jinja that took place last year in October. The construction of the bridge was highly financed by Japan, whose main partner was Japanese company Zenitaka Corporation.
Responding to the Japanese ambassador, Amb Mugoya also acknowledged the mutual relationship between Uganda and Japan. He thanked Japan for the unremitting support in developing key areas of Infrastructure, Health, Agriculture, Education and sports. He further more pledged his full support and that of the ministry to the ambassador and the government of Japan in order to uphold the existing friendship and cooperation that exists between the two countries
Mugoya also remarked in agreement that the Government of Japan has been quite instrumental in the Economic Infrastructure Development of Uganda emphasizing that this partnership is aimed at promoting harmonized and effective cooperation between both Uganda & Japan.
While concluding their gratitude conversation, the two underscored the importance of promoting quality infrastructure in accordance with international standards such as openness, transparency, economic efficiency and financial viability of recipient countries. Amb. Kameda expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the cooperation that has always been accorded to him by the Ministry and other Departments and Government Agencies in execution of his duties pledging the continued support of the People and Government of Japan to the People and Government of Uganda.
