Commissioner of Police whose 50- year- long service as Director of Uganda Police Band has died aged 64.
Kakooza’s death was announced by police through its official social media page Facebook that she died from Namirembe Hospital on Wednesday morning.
“One of the longest serving Police Officer Commissioner of Police, and the Director Uganda Police Band Josephine Kakooza, breathed her last at Namirembe hospital today morning 9th January 2019.”
The cause of death remains unknown.
She joined the force in 1969.
“May her soul rest in eternal peace and may God strengthen her family and the entire Uganda Police fraternity,” Police’s brief statement reads.
Burial arrangements were underway.
