Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga has asked to meet in private two music heavyweights Moses Ssali popularly known as Bebe Cool and his longtime rival Robert Kyagulanyi –aka- Bobi Wine.
Mayiga’s request follows a ‘reunion’ between the two music icons at Serena on Friday evening as they attended a concert dubbed 10years of Eddie Kenzo.
The host, Eddie Kenzo, initiated the move which saw the duo shake hands, hug and share a table something that had not happened for ages.
These legends credited for ‘rescuing’ the music industry in the 1990 after it had been ‘conquered’ by the Congolese later developed bad blood and have since traded insults in the public.
It got worse when they shared different political affiliations with Bebe Cool loyal to the ruling party while Bobi Wine chose to oppose the regime.
The self proclaimed ghetto president is currently the Kyadondo East lawmaker and considered a new opposition leader.
Their ‘reunion’ has since stirred debate with their fans describing the Friday moment as expression of ‘respect and maturity’ as pioneers of the music industry.
This website has exclusively learnt that Buganda Prime Minister has so far extended invitation to the two although he didn’t divulge the agenda of the meeting.
“Mr. Mayiga has asked to meet both of us,” Bebe Cool told this news site.
Adding that, “he is a man of integrity. I don’t know the point of meeting. I am a Muganda and I respect him. When called upon by him I will respond.”
