Eng. Andrew Kitaka Mubiru who is substantively the Director Engineering and Technical Services has now been assigned duties of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director following resignation of Dr. Jennifer Musisi.
Mr. Kitaka was handed instruments of power by Kampala Minister Betty Olive Kamya on Tuesday with a letter from the President’s office.
Below we produce the letter,
As you are aware, Ms. Jennifer Semakula Musisi resigned as Executive Director of KCCA effective 15th December, 2018. She therefore handed over the office accordingly.
In a special way, I wish to thank her for the good work, she has managed to achieve during her tenure of office amidst several challenges in the city.
I assure the people of Kampala and Uganda at large, that KCCA is on track in executing its mandate as per the Constitution.
Be informed that; it is the mandate of His Excellency the President to appoint the Executive Director and Directors of Kampala Capital City Authority.
However, to ensure continuity and smooth running of the City, I have assigned duties of Executive Director to Eng. Andrew Kitaka Mubiru, who is substantively the Director Engineering & Technical Services at KCCA.
At the same time, I hereby affirm Mr.Samuel Sserunkuuma to continue carrying on the duties of Deputy ExecutiveDirector KCCA until such a time when the substantive one is appointed. Iappeal to all staff of KCCA to remain focused, objective and ensure performanceto the expectation of the Public and the Nation at large. I also appeal to thegeneral public to accord them maximum.
