Heads of police and the army have held a meeting to design a plan on how to protect investors who have repeatedly been attacked while others killed in Uganda.
The meeting was prompted by Chinese businessmen who met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and threatened to leave the country because their safety wasn’t guaranteed.
It is that meeting in which a visibly rattled Museveni ordered army to guard residences of these foreigners.
Against that backdrop, police and the military met for two days to further plan on how to secure these investors.
The meetings took place on Monday and Tuesday at Naguru police head offices.
Deputy IGP Brig. Sabiiti Muzeeyi represented IGP Okoth Ochola while Maj Gen. Peter Elwelu whom the CDF Gen David Muhoozi represented.
Also in attendance were senior officers from both agencies.
The decisions undertaken and much more details were still scanty by the time of filing this report.
When contacted the army publicist Brig. Richard Karemire didn’t respond to us.
Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima who attended the two sessions couldn’t be reached.
