Avoid Womanising, You Will Lose Stamina; Museveni Cautions Cranes

Museveni shows off juggling skills

President Yoweri Museveni in a committed support for sports in the country has urged Uganda Cranes players to continue the winning spirit by defeating Tanzania even when Uganda has already qualified for African Cup of Nations.

Uganda Cranes will face off with Harambe Stars in Tanzania capital, Dodoma.

Museveni insists Uganda must win its last match.

“Even if the Cranes have already qualified, I know that they still have a game to play against Tanzania. Please make sure you do not lose that game. Congratulations once again,” Museveni implored Crane captain Denis Onyango at State House on Monday evening.

Onyango was flanked by FUFA president Moses Magogo.

Museveni however cautioned the players that to achieve the win they must maintain the ingredients of football which include stamina, skill and teamwork.

However the three can happen when the payers desist from alcohol and womanising.

“From my footballing experience, I know that the following ingredients are important for the game; stamina, skill and teamwork. Stamina is critical because you do a lot of running. You must eat well, exercise and avoid alcohol, smoking and womanizing,” said the President.

Adding that, “training is very important. Africans are very strong naturally. If you train well, you can dominate the sports world. The potential exists, what is critical is harnessing it through training.”

He also vowed to tackle corruption that has engulfed the sports sector and thus instructed the line minister to deal with the vice as fast as possible.
