Najjera Murder: Police Arrests Man Injured by Dogs

Police has in custody a man suspected of sustaining wounds inflicted on him by dogs on a night city businessman Arch Rwego was hacked to death by unknown assailants in Najjera, Wakiso District.

His arrest comes after he attempted to seek treatment in a city clinic with wounds on his back and neck.

Detectives moved so fast to arrest the man since it is believed that as killers raided Rwego’s residence they encountered resistance from dogs which injured one of assailants before they could also be killed.

The killers then broke into Rwego’s bedroom stabbed him in the chest, head and neck. He bled to death.

His wife was injured in the scuffle. TrumpetNews understands that she narrated the incident to detectives who have since launched hunt in clinics in the nearby towns with hope the wounded killers would rush to the medicals facilities seeking treatment.

Police is however still protecting the suspect’s identity.

Rwego was married to Dora, a sister of CID Director Grace Akullo.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima was not readily available for comment.

When contacted to verify information Kampala Metropolitan Police publicist Luke Owoyesigire said “we will soon confirm if he is a suspect in that murder case.”
