Opposition political dynamite Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi has appealed to Ugandans to massively turn up to support Uganda Cranes at Namboole Stadium next Month.
The national team will host Cape Verde on November 16, 2018 in a tussle to qualify for African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament slated for January in Cameroon, West Africa.
However, a section of Ugandans in opposition have in the recent past instigated calls to boycott the Crane Match in retaliation of cancelled music concert.
Mr. Kyagulanyi, who represents Kyadondo East had his efforts of entertaining his fans at Namboole thwarted by police.
The legislator who doubles as a dancehall singer and better known as Bobi Wine earlier set October 20 as a date when he would host the concert Kyarenga.
But the singer through the organisers failed to secure the venue as they lacked a security clearance letter.
Bobi Wine later expressed no hope of staging the music show citing police as an impediment.
The singer got a ray of hope last week having signed an MoU with stadium’s administration and would therefore sing for his music lovers in December.
But Police again reigned in and ordered him to call off the concert.
The directive raised dust among opposition supporters who have since rallied Ugandans to shun the football match.
But on Monday Bobi Wine using his twitter page dismissed the calls saying Cranes is a national team which deserves everyone’s support.
“I dont agree with the hashtag #boycottugandacranes which is trending as a result of the Kyarenga concert cancelation by Namboole. The uganda cranes is our national team in which we should take pride. All these young men need is love and support not condemnation,” he posted on Twitter.
