Mutabazi Issues Final Call; UCC to Shutdown Unregistered News Websites

Mutabazi

Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Executive director Eng Godfrey Mutabazi, has implored media houses to engage in quality production and also hire competent personnel who will provide enriching content for the public.

Mutabazi emphasized that enriching would not only empower citizens to make right choices in life but also give a competitive advantage to media house in the market.

Mutabazi made the remarks during the launch of Nxt Radio at Mestil Hotel in Nsambya, Kampala on Wednesday night.

He said in the broadcast industry, content remained a challenge in both “quality and richness,” adding, “Inspite of the rich diversity and abundance of local content in Uganda, our media houses have continued to produce not so good content.”

The event was graced by media personnel, businessmen and government officials.

Mr Mutabazi revealed the market was competitive and robust but called for innovative approaches of management as opposed to “traditional management style of media houses in order to survive in the race.”
