Kanye West Visit Earns Uganda Over 2 Billion in Revenue

Chobe Safari Lodge has 36 Guest rooms (Standards at $397 and deluxe at $450 ), 21 luxury tents with the most expensive tent at nearly $600 a night. It has 4 suites with the most expensive suite priced at $600, a Presidential Cottage where Kanye is staying at nearly $1,000 a night ($935 per night) and a family banda at $700 a night. It also has a Spa, swimming pool , gym and a helipad. This brings the total rooms booked by the Kanye team to 63.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian paid up the entire lodge for a week. With the average price with all activities per suite at $700, multiplied by 63 booked rooms for a week, that’s a total of $308,700, Uganda Shillings 1,173,060,000 (One billion ,one hundred and seventy three million and sixty thousand ) will be earned by Uganda in seven days from one Lodge. This is an enormous amount, excluding food, drinks and usage of other facilities.

Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, met with the President Yoweri Museveni, during their trip to the country.

Museveni detailed the meeting with the power couple in a tweet, revealing that the 41-year-old rapper gifted him white sneakers amid talks of improving tourism.

The president also shared photos from the meeting where he’s greeting the couple, posing with the sneakers and having discussions in an ornately decorated room.
