Muntu Threatens to Name Mole in FDC

Muntu formed a new party Alliance for National Transformation

New formation leader Maj. Gen. Mugisha Muntu on Monday evening threatened to name NRM spy in FDC if the party officials don’t cease to attack, abuse him publicly.

Since Muntu quit FDC, several of its senior and junior leaders have embarked on a campaign to discredit and character assassinate him claiming he had fulfilled his mission of spying and subsequently disintegrating the party.

At a time he vied for the party’s top office, officials opposed to his leadership began questioning his loyalty and citizenship before they labelled him a Rwandan spying for the regime.

But Muntu chose silence until he quit last week.

Appearing on a local TV political talk show on Monday evening, Muntu rubbished the claims saying he ‘believes in time.’

He raised a precedent of Maj. Rubaramira Ruranga who in 2012 circulated fabrications against Muntu that he was a mole and had been sent by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to disorganise the FDC.

Rubaramira headed Hon Nandala Mafabi’s taskforce. Mafabi and Muntu had contested for the party’s top office.

However, the FDC was startled to learn the defection of Mr. Rubaramira to NRM after a few months.

“In 2012 there is a man called Rubaramira he went everywhere abusing me, calling me a mole. Do you know him?” Muntu asked the moderator.

He added: “Where is he now?”

He scoffed at many officials who brand him a mole, “the real mole is there in FDC. I know him”

Pressed on Muntu said he wouldn’t reveal his/her name but “time will.”

He reasoned out those peddling mole-claims that if indeed he was, he wouldn’t quit the party, “I would have stayed in there and disorganise the party. I would never participate in any process to build FDC.”

Liberal and gentle as he is known, Muntu said he is ready to collaborate with FDC in his new quest for democracy and regime change.
