FDC top officials who announced their departure along with Maj. Gen. Mugisha have been ordered to surrender party property.
FDC secretary general Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi on Monday issued a directive to particularly Kasim Kyazze who has been serving as the FDC General Secretary for Makindye District, Kampala.
“The Party has been notified of your quitting of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), We appreciate your time with the us and wish to inform you to hand over all the materials in your possession out of which include though not limited to;
Cheque book, Office Stamp, Desks, 12 Cups, 3 Office Chairs, 2 Tables, Office Files and any other important Party documents in your possession,” Mafabi wrote.
He added, “I therefore call upon your cooperation as you hand over to the Makindye Chairperson Mr. Livingstone Kizito and witnessed by Ms. Nabayozi Gertrude the Regional Officer, Central.”
Muntu and his breakaway faction reached a decision of quitting FDC on Tuesday last week following 9 months of nationwide consultation.
The former FDC president while justifying his departure from the biggest opposition party which he partly formed said, his method of leadership had for a long been contested and it would be of no value to stay in an organisation where you are not appreciated.
Kasim Kyazze has for a long been a close ally of Gen. Muntu even at a time when party top officials staged a cold war against his rule.
Kyazze was present at Hotel Africana last Thursday to swear his allegiance to the New Formation.
