Environmentalist Mpalanyi Julius Brutally Tortured over Homosexuality

Julius Mpalanyi being brutally rounded up by residents

Residents and local authorities of Wakivule village, in Luwero District are baying for Mpalanyi Julius’ blood whom they accuse of promoting and practicing homosexuality.

This comes after Mpalanyi survived lynching on September 29, while he conducted a community meeting on environmental conservation under UYDNET and KEFA charity organizations.

According to a witness, a charged group of residents stormed the meeting brutalised him and attempted to lynch him on gay suspicion.  He was rescued by local leaders and handed over to police.

“The community insists Mpalanyi has been practicing homosexuality on various occasions in the guise of doing humanitarian and environmental services,” said the witness who wished not to be named.

His brutal arrest came following a tip by his close relative who confessed to the local authorities that Mpalanyi had sodomised a resident only identified as Kaguggube the previous night.

He (relative) said had landed on “disgusting pictures and videos” Mpalanyi recorded while bum-shafting a fellow man.

Mpalanyi has since been declared ‘persona-non-grata’ on Wakivule village with hundreds of parents fearing he could recruit their children. They categorically made it clear if they ever land on him, “not even police could save him.”

In Uganda homosexual habits are illegal and contrary to the traditional norms. It is perceived as an abomination and a taboo which can not be tolerated with in a community and as such promoters of this practice face very serious dangers including death.

Many children suspected to be gay have been disowned by their parents and some flee their homes fearing arrest while others commit suicide.
