President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in his continued poverty alleviation drive in the city has donated shs 100 million to the youth of Kamwokya, a notorious suburb of Kampala.
Museveni spent the better part of last week traversing different division across the capital, as he inspected various youth projects that are funded by the government in a bid to empower the youth and also combat unemployment.
The President however, delegated deputy government spokesperson Col Shaban Bantariza who delivered the colossal sums of cash to the visibly excited youth who were heard praising and singing NRM slogans on Monday afternoon.
Kamwokya has recently become a battle ground between ghetto youth and military men who have on several occasions raided the area to quell demonstrations.
Museveni’s donation is perceived as a planned move to neutralise Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who grew up in Kamwokya and has since established various chains of business.
