Long-awaited People Power ‘president’ Robert Kyagulanyi better known as Bobi Wine is set to arrive at Entebbe Airport in Uganda at 1pm.
His thousands of supporters on Thursday morning took to the streets of Kampala and Entebbe highway to welcome Bobi Wine who has been away for weeks in the U.S receiving treatment having been allegedly tortured by security forces last month.
But security deployed heavily in many parts of Kampala and Entebbe ahead of his homecoming.
Earlier People Power fanatics had anticipated their president would arrive as early as 10am in the morning.
By press time, a video of Bobi Wine boarding a plane at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi Kenya had started circulating on social media.
In a bid to restore sanity back here in Uganda, security agencies have arrested those believed to have breached guidelines issued yesterday.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that several journalists from different media houses have also been detained at Kisubi police station along Entebbe highway.
On Wednesday police banned live telecast of Bobi Wine’s return.
