Bobi Wine: I Must Either Win or Die Trying

Bobi Wine speaking to an American journalist

Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi will not rest until his quest is achieved of causing regime change in Uganda.

Better known as Bobi Wine, the pop star has in the recent past caused anxiety among government top shots as the ‘whole’ world in unison demanded for his release from a military detention where he had been incarcerated for several weeks.

The State alleged that Bobi Wine who was at a time of his arrest been in the northern district of Uganda- Arua campaigning in a by-election led a group of hooligans who attacked and stoned President Yoweri Kaguta’s convoy.

Bobi Wine claims he was tortured by security officers leaving his internal organs damaged.

A military court which convened in Gulu district dropped charges of illegal possession of military weapons against Bobi Wine and a week later the civil court granted him bail along with other 33 inmates who were arrested following anarchy which marred the by-election.

Good news is that Bobi Wine’s candidate an independent Kassiono Wadri won the elections and swore in as new Arua Municipality lawmaker. He replaced a regime protagonist Ibrahim Abiriga who was shot dead a few months ago as he returned home.

The musician –cum- politician has since sought further medical management in the U.S following claims of torture.

While in America Bobi Wine has had a number of media engagements.

Appearing on BBC, Bobi Wine had this to say;

“I am going to continue most importantly to call upon Ugandans, especially the young people to stand up for what they believe in, not to give up, never to give up, to continue pushing until they get the freedom and dignity they deserve. I am going to continue fight for freedom and it is the fight that we must either win or die trying.”

Bobi Wine together with his american strategist Robert Amsterdam will also hold a press conference on Thursday at 10am local time (U.S) and 17hrs back home in Uganda.

Reputable media houses like CNN, Aljazeera, Fox News and many more will broadcast it live.
