Anite Quietly Returns Home from U.S

Minister Evelyn Anite has returned home from United State of America (USA) where she spent close to two months extending her studies.

According to her aide, Anite, the junior minister of investment and privatisation jetted into the country last Saturday and has since resumed official government duties.

Anite, on Tuesday attended a the opening of a mega cement factory in Tororo, Eastern Uganda to which the President was the chief guest. The minister who had accompanied a number of investors used a chopper to the venue.

“She had taken the investors to meet President Yoweri Museveni,” her aide added.

This website has also learnt that Anite attended both cabinet and party caucus on Monday (yesterday).

The outspoken minister had been pursuing a master’s degree at University in Medford, Massachusetts, U.S since July 2018.

Her announcement to take official leave drew controversy with many reports suggesting Anite had sought exile following a directive from the President to arrest her.

Unconfirmed reports claimed she had been ‘grabbed’ soliciting for shs 28 billion bribe from an investor an act that enraged the President.
