Armed police men have Monday fired live bullets and volleys of teargas to quell violent protests which broke out in downtown, Kampala.
The demonstrations started from notorious Kiseka Market as protesters demanded for immediate release of Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi who is incarcerated in a military facility at Makindye in Kampala.
The pop-politician commonly known as Bobi Wine was charged with illegal possession of an SMG riffle and several rounds of bullets.
His wife Barbie Kyagulanyi issued a statement last week saying her husband is in dire state and requires urgent medical attention.
His detention has ignited a wave of riots across the country as his supporters dispel charges saying they are trumped-up and politically motivated.
By the time of filing this report, security was engaging the rioters in downtown, Kampala.
