The Kingdom of Buganda is not only wealth, but also progressive. With massive investments in real estate, broadcasting, telecommunications and tourism, the kingdom has now set its eyes on the mineral water market.

As the Kabaka, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II marked 25 years at the helm of the Buganda Kingdom, the Katikkiro (Prime Minister) launched yet another product, the Olwendo Mineral Water.

The water which was unveiled to the public at Bulange, Mengo the seat of the Kingdom, is the second in Buganda’s refreshment and beverage line after Engule, a locally brewed beer.

Charles Peter Mayiga, the Katikkiro of Buganda said that the water is part of the Kingdom’s plan to re-assert herself as a creative and innovation hub.

“We are in the celebration month to mark the Kabaka Silver Jubilee since the coronation. We are also launching this Olwendo water brand,” he said.

It is hoped that faithful kingdom enthusiasts will gladly now resort to the brand as a show of support to the kingdom that has the biggest following of any other kingdom.
