Parliament has directed security ministers to come up with statements addressing the state of security in the country.
In the parliamentary order paper for 17th July, the security ministers including defence and veteran affairs, internal affairs and general security, the ministers have each been given 20 minutes to address the legislature on a number of security issues.
Also to be discussed in the order paper is statement by the Hon. Minister of state for security on allegations of kidnap of workers and trespass at the MTN data centre on 7th July by unauthorized personnel suspected to be ISO operatives.
Parliament will also listen in to a statement by the Hon. Minister of Education and Sports on the 15% increment in tuition fees at Makerere University, statement by the Hon. Minister of Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance on the procedure for sim-card registration, statement by the Hon. Minister of State for Health (general duties) on the availability of polio vaccines in health facilities in the country.
The Minister of Water and Environment will also address parliament on the water crisis in Kisoro district.
