MTN battles ISO over Data Centre Intrusion

MTN Towers In Kampala.

MTN Uganda isn’t in a good place right now. The giant telecom last Tuesday petitioned the Uganda Communications Commission over the Internal Security Organisation’s (ISO) trespass and legal access of their Data Center in Mutundwe.

Last Wednesday, a joint team of security forces raided the multi-million MTN Uganda Data Centre.

The raid was led by Internal Security Organisation (ISO), Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and Police detectives.

MTN in their statement claims the ISO operatives forcefully switched off four servers at the service centre that affected their business operations including call data details and resolution of customer queries, service information for different products and processing of business financial reports.

The statement issued by Anthony Katamba, the acting MTN Chief Executive said the raid had interrupted their work

By press time, UCC’s response to the impacce had not come through while ISO refused to comment on the saga
