Landmark: Hundreds March on Kampala Streets in Peaceful Protest

Hundreds of Ugandans took to the streets of Kampala City in a peaceful protest against the continued kidnaps and murders of women.

The protest was codenamed “One Million Women’s March” and it began from Centenary Park on Jinja Road.

Foreigners including U.S, French Ambassadors; Deborah Malac and Ambassador Stephanie joined the protest.

Many were dressed in black t-shirts with names and images of women who were murdered in parts of Kampala, Wakiso and other regions in recent months, walked the streets chanting “Women Lives Matter, Protect Women Now.”

The march, was organized by the head of the Women’s Protest Working Group Dr Stella Nyanzi, under Chapter Four Uganda.
