Phone Belonging to Abiriga’s Killer Recovered from Crime Scene

The latest development on the tragic death of Arua Municipality Hon Ibrahim Abiriga indicates that a phone was recovered by security from the crime scene.

The cell phone according to a witness belongs to one the killers and it fell down as he attempted to flee having committed the heinous crime.

However, authorities were not able to verify this information saying it could jeopardize investigations.

Abiriga was shot multiple times along with his bodyguard as he returned home on Friday evening.

The motive of the murder remains unknown.

Several leaders including President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, MPs, opposition leader Col Kizza Besigye issued statement condemning the killing of Abiriga.
