Details have emerged how Arua Municipality MP and a staunch ruling party supporter was gunned down on Friday evening as he returned home in Kawanda, a few kilometers from Kampala City.
An eyewitness told TrumpetNews that two men wearing mask riding a boda boda intercepted Ibrahim Abiriga’s car who was in company of his bodyguard and another occupant.
The unidentified assailants showered Abriga’s car with bullets which killed the three occupants instantly.
He was 500 meters away from his residence.
The motive of the assassination is yet to be identified.
“It’s a very unfortunate evening where l had to confirm the assassination of the Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga, Arua Municipality MP. He was killed near his home in Kawanda, Wakiso District by unknown assailants. Details will follow,” police spokesman Emilian Kayima told this website.
