Uganda is rated as one of the country’s with the highest number of road fatalities across the world.
Eric Musana Achaali, the Buyaga East Member of Parliament has this morning been involved in a nasty accident at Busimbi Town, along the Mityana-Kampala highway.
Unconfirmed reports say the MP was he rushing back to Kampala to attend a meeting at State House.
Other sources say the President had scheduled a meeting with pro- kugikwatakko members from Bunyoro Sub Region where Musana Eric’s constituency is. The legislator was critically injured in the accident.
The unfortunate incident happened when the MP’s car, a Toyota Prado TX registration number UBB 441R collided with a Toyota Canter number UBA 350F. It is said the MP’s car rammed into the Canter as he tried to dodge a boda-boda cyclist who had veered off the side of the road into the centre of the road.
Rescuers who arrived at the accident scene rushed the member of parliament to Mityana Hospital from where they were advised to proceed to Kampala. He is currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital in critical condition.
According to Mityana Police, the MP was driving recklessly and will be charged as soon as he recovers.
