Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) head of mobilisation Ms Ingrid Turinawe has summoned a crisis meeting in Rukungiri District to discredit President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s ‘lies.’
Ingrid announced on Monday that she will also make resolutions after her SACCO- Buhunga wasn’t included on the list of those that received cash donation from the President last Sunday.
According to reports Buhunga SACCO and Buyanja SACCO in Rukungiri didn’t get money because the former was started by Ingrid Turinawe when she was still Rukungiri District Speaker while the latter is mainly composed of Museveni’s opponents.
It is said Buyanja opposes Museveni in Rukungiri as much as Municipality.
Museveni gave 110 groups shs 5 billion to ostensibly help them fight poverty.
The President explained that he picked the money from the State House purse not from the national treasury.
The items that were donated by Mr Museveni included motorcycles, mini-buses, sewing machines, tents, chairs, garage equipment and motor vehicle spare parts among others.
Rukungiri is the home of Dr Kizza Besigye, the four-time presidential candidate, a political nemesis of Mr Museveni.
Rukungiri Municipality is represented by Mr Roland Mugume Kaginda, a member of the Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a party that was founded by Dr Besigye and a group of other politicians.
Ingrid Turinawe earned a name as one of the female opposition politicians working around the clock to dislodge the regime.
She has been subjected to torture, persecution and prison in her pursuit for change.
She a close female ally of Col Kizza Besigye- the all time opposition leader since he fell out with the NRM establishment in 1999.
