Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has impounded cars belong to national broadcaster UBC over a debt approximately shs 15 billion.
URA officers stormed UBC premises last Thursday and took away five cars after the media house failed to pay taxes for a many years.
Whereas Vincent Seruma, URA Spokesperson confirmed the news to the media, he declined to reveal details of the operations.
“We impounded 5 vehicles because they (UBC) have some outstanding liabilities,” Seruma said.
UBC spokesperson Jane Kasumba said that management is containing the situation.
“Management is handling the situation and there is no cause for alarm,” Kasumba said.
