Another Ugandan Wins Gold

Chesang celebrates

Uganda’s Stella Chesang has won a gold medal on Tuesday in the Women’s 10,000m finals at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Mercyline Chelangat bagged Bronze medal in the same competition.

On Sunday Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei also won the men’s 5000m final, clinching gold and Uganda’s first medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Many Ugandans took to social media to congratulate these brave athletes; President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni thanked the two ladies for making the country proud.

He had earlier hyped praises on Cheptegei for doing the same.

“I want to congratulate Stella Chesang for winning Gold in the Women’s 10,000m finals at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. You have done your country proud!

I also congratulate Mercyline Chelangat for bagging the Bronze medal in the same competition. Well done,” Museveni wrote.
