Museveni: Most MPs are Very Ignorant

Museveni at Parlaiment

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has Thursday lashed out at legislators who mislead the country with distorted information, referring to them as ‘killers.’

Museveni was speaking during the launch of parliamentary forum on malaria held outside the premises of Parliament.

The campaign is code named; Mass Action Against Malaria.

Museveni said that unlike some of the other biological enemies, you can kill both the mosquito and the protozoa which are the causes of malaria.

“Why are we having this malaria conservation program? We are not talking of Malaria elimination but rather conservation yet we can eliminate it,” Museveni asked.

Museveni said this might be due to laziness within the Ministry of Health that has not put in extra effort to kill the mosquito through the available methods.

“We need to kill the mosquito through using treated bed nets that act as a trap for the mosquito, residual indoor spraying on the walls which last for at least 6 months and outdoor spraying among others.”

In the effort to fight and kick malaria out of Uganda, Museveni accused some of the MPs who spread harmful propaganda against the government thus misleading the public that regime has deliberately refused to fight this disease.

He said those without proper information dispel government’s efforts because of their ignorance.

“I most of you MPs you are very ignorant,” said Museveni.
