Deputy Attorney General Hon Mwesigwa Rukutana has refuted allegations reported in the media that he sired a child with Lady Justice Elizabeth Musoke.
On Wednesday, a concerned citizen, Male Mabirizi in a letter accused Elizabeth of sleeping with two cabinet minutes, Hon Hilary Onek and Mwesigwa Rukutana.
He therefore, asked her to quit from the panel of 5 judges who are set to preside over the age limit cases in Mbale beginning April 9, 2018.
Mabirizi claimed that since the deputy Attorney General leads the team of defendants, and because of his relationship with Elizabeth, the judge will be biased with her judgment.
Against that backdrop, Rukutana responded to Mabirizi’s wild allegations, saying they are malicious, unfounded and defamatory.
“The purported notice contains false. malicious, unfounded and defamatory allegations that I sired a child with the Learned Justice Elizabeth Musoke, a reason for which. she is being called upon to rccuse From participating in the hearing and determination the Petition,” he said in a letter on Thursday.
He added, “I write to categorically deny the allegation and state that it is false. malicious. unfounded and defamatory•, az 1 have never sired a child with the teamed Judge or been in any relations with her at all.”
Rukutana however said he is not bothered with the allegations but sympthises with Elizabeth.
“While I am personally not bothered by the wild allegation. I am empathetic to the Learned Judge and the disposition of the Honourable Court,” he stated.
Rukutana asked court to establish if Mabirizi is a person of sound mind before hearing his petition.
“For the above reasons and to save squandering time on useless proceedings challenging the wild allegations, it is my humble prayer that considering the conduct exhibited in Court when we appeared on both occasions for conkrencing, and this wild and unfounded allegation. this Honourable court establishes whether Male Mabirizi is a tit, sound and proper person to engage in litigation by himself, well before embarking on the hearing of the Petition. I so pray.”
