Police, ISO Rift Deepens

Police Publicist, Kayima

Uganda Police on Monday came out to dispute claims by Internal Security Organisation (ISO) that the report on death of Europeans in Kampala Hotels was doctored.

ISO director in charge of political affairs, Lt Col Joseph Aliganyira said their investigations revealed that the CCTV footage of the hotels had been tampered with.

Adding, that the intelligence organ will at a suitable time unleash its genuine report.

Former IGP Gen Kale Kayihura and the police pathologist Moses Byaruhanga told the media that the toxicology report suggested the dead foreign nationals had drug overdose.

The two foreigners Thomas Juha Petteri Terasvouri from Finland died at Pearl of Africa Hotel, while Axel Ssebastian Andreas from Sweden died at Sheraton Kampala hotel, last month.

Emilain Kayima, the police publicist Emillian Kayima on a weekly news briefing maintained that the police postmortem report is genuine, since it is backed by “scientific evidence.”

“On top of the medical reports, police have gained access to suspects from ISO.” Kayima identified the five suspects as Faridah Nagayi, Musa Nyanzi, Fatumah Kabagambe, Apollo Kyabaje and Carol Narinda,” he said.

“We got the suspects last week and they are making statements in relation to the death of the Finnish and Swedish nationals,” Kayima added.
