Eric Senyonjo Kiddu,33, has been reportedly hit with an iron bar to death by his wife, 25, Jackline Nakku.
The gruesome incident which happened at about 1am, February 15 in Mukono Town, was, according to the suspect, Jackline, a culmination of several years of violent spousal abuse by her dead husband.
The grisly murder, police says was first reported by the suspect as aggravated robbery in which the accused said her husband was hit with an iron bar by thugs who attacked him as he left a night spot to watch soccer.
“Mukono Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after investigations revealed that a case of aggravated robbery that left her husband dead was a cover up,” police said in a statement sent to this website.
Adding that, “Nakku had reported a case of aggravated robbery in which her husband was hit by thugs on the head with an iron bar as he returned back from watching PSG vs Real Madrid football match.”
While detectives visited the crime scene, the reconstruction didn’t up add up, compelling investigators to search the house, they recovered the iron bar soaked in a pool of blood under the bed.
After a series of interrogation, the maid and children of the deceased, all pointed at Nakku.
“They said they had not heard any struggle during the attack.”
On interviewing neighbours, they revealed the couple had for long been embroiled in marital fights with several complaints of domestic violence lodged at police.
Nakku would later admit murdering her violent spouse.
The District Police Commander SP Rogers Seguya confirmed the arrest and revealed that the murder case file has been opened CRB 210/2018.
