Two Police Officers attached to Kawempe Police Station Division were Thursday night killed and their guns taken, Emilian Kayima, Police publicist says.
Adding that the incident happened at 8:00pm.
“Armed criminals that are yet to be apprehended trailed, shot dead two of our police officers from Kawempe Police Station Division, killing them instantly and two of their guns taken by criminals,” Kayima said in a statement sent to this website.
The deceased are identified as Vincent Habiyaremye and Ambrose Otim.
“They were shot at a place called Kizza Zone in Kawempe Division,” Kayima added.
Police is yet to recover the missing guns and ammunitions.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mulago Referral Hospital for postmortem.
“The police have embarked on hunting for these criminals with the view of bringing them to justice,” said Kayima.
