NRM MP Nabeta kicked out of Jinja East Seat As Main Rival FDC’s Mwiru faces Forged Academic Papers petition

Nathan Nabeta the former Jinja East MP who lost his seat over election malpractices

The High Court has this Friday Morning thrown NRM MP Nathan Igeme Nabeta out of parliament.

Three Justices including former Deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma, Richard Butera and Paul Mugamba annulled  Nabeta’s voctory on grounds of falsification of election results.

FDC’s Paul Mwiru who is set to battle for the Jinja East By-Election

In their ruling, the judges declined to declare Paul Mwiru (FDC), Nabeta’s political rival winner on grounds that they could not use wrong results to determine the winner of the election.

The ruling follows a petition by Mr Mwiru challenging the election of Mr Nabeta on grounds that the election was not free and fair adding that it was marred by irregularities.

However, Mr Nabeta, who won the elections dismissed the claims saying the elections were conducted in a free and fair manner and denied any wrong doing.

During the hearing, Nabeta argued that he had won the elections on merit.
